Money Saving Tip – Your Online Buying Guide

Buying online can be super scary sometimes.

Sometimes you are sent the wrong thing, or it just doesn’t fit how you want it; and lets not even get into the returning process…

BUT it’s one of the easiest ways to save money. Plus, it’s been the number one way my family has been saving money recently.

I’ll be honest…I disliked online shopping for fear that I would be sent the wrong thing. Also, I’ll be honest again…I’ve only had that happen once and it was an eBay order. Most people on eBay though are pretty good at accepting returns especially if it’s how they make money.

I have found that most things are cheaper for me to purchase online, and if they have the option for picking up in store – I save on shipping. Plus, my personal favorite…most things come straight to my door! I don’t have to leave the house which saves me on gas. I’m fortunate right now that every store is only about 5 minutes from my house…but when we move…shopping online is going to be my best friend even more so than it is right now.

 Tip #1: Always Read Reviews!

I’m not kidding when I say this. The more I started paying attention to the reviews people were leaving, the more money I was starting to save. Do your research. Sometimes things can look bigger/smaller in pictures. The colors could be different. It might not be true to size on how it fits. I truly appreciate the people who take the time out of their day to leave those reviews. They help so much! Also, another way to do this is to actually go to the store and look at the item in person, then find it online for cheaper and read the reviews as well.

Tip #2: Price Search

When you find an item that is worth what you are willing to spend on it, price search. I always check on eBay, Amazon, Overstock, and I’ll even do a Google search for the item I’m looking for. Sometimes Google finds another place selling that same product that I hadn’t thought of. And always, if you are thinking of buying from a site you haven’t used…do your research on that company and read the reviews. Remember…always read reviews. They are a lifesaver.

Tip #3: Use Coupon Codes

After you’ve done all your research, read all the reviews and found the cheapest price, you wan to look for some coupon codes! I personally love RetailMeNot. Myself has used them years ago and never had any problems with the coupons or codes I was getting. I recently started using RetailMeNot again and it’s still just as amazing as it was when I first started using them.

Tip #4: Ebates

This one is my personal fave! By using Ebates, you can get up to 3% cash back with many of your online purchases. They have a ton of stores to choose from. Plus, if you have a PayPal debit card, you’ll earn 1% which does double up with the Ebates cash back, so your earning yourself even more cash back!

If you use these steps to do most of your shopping online, you’ll be amazed with how much you will save!

I promise!
